School closings due to severe weather, emergencies, or other conditions that may affect the safety of our students and staff are announced through local and Chicago radio and television stations, and on this website. Every effort is made to publicize these announcements as soon as a decision is made to cancel or close schools. We encourage parents and the public to check these sources early when bad weather is predicted and to check again in case the information is missed the first time. Please DO NOT call the school to inquire about possible closings. A decision to close schools covers one school day only. New announcements will be made each day if the situation continues.
