Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is a universal organization whose object is personal holiness under the influence of the Holy Spirit through Our Blessed Mother and working for the salvation of souls.

We gather on Monday nights at 6:30 pm in the parish office.  We start our meeting with the rosary; have spiritual readings and then discuss the work completed during the week.

We would be happy to have anyone interested, come and join us in this fulfilling mission of Mary, our Mother.  Check out www.legionofmary.ie for more information or call Jim Bartlett at 815-245-8681.

Respect Life

Respect for the dignity of every human person, from conception until natural death, is at the heart of our mission of social justice.  There are many grave evils that permeate our culture.  Abortion, euthanasia, contraception and in vitro fertilization are some of the gravest sins against the dignity of life in our culture today.

In addition to boldly speaking out against the culture of death, prayer is one of the greatest avenues we have to help bring about a culture of life.  Please join us every first Monday of the month for a pro-life rosary at 7:30 pm in our church.

This group meets monthly to plan events for the parish on the second Tuesday at 7 pm usually in the St. Joseph Basement.

St. Mary youth have also formed a group, Mime for Life. This group of high school teens act out a tremendously moving skit that supports pro-life. They are willing to travel and perform for other groups. Contact the parish office for more information.

Schoenstatt Mothers League

Schoenstatt Mothers League is a lay movement to encourage and inspire all women of St. Mary Parish.

Be encouraged to find the guidance, courage and strength you need in your everyday lives! Come to learn from our guest, Sister Marie Day, from the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary in Waukesha, WI, as she leads us to ponder the shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt, and shows us how to invite Christ through Mary into our own homes. This program is for all women and mothers in the parish. It is held at 11 am in the St. Joseph Center on the first Thursday of each month. Bring a friend or small group. All are welcome. For more information, call Barb Gessert 815-334-0422.
