Our Lady of Fatima Celebrations

We will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the visitation of Our Lady at Fatima on May 13, 2017. We will be showing an Our Lady of Fatima movie on Wednesday, May 10, in the church at 6:30 pm (instead of religious ed. classes).

The Pope has offered plenary indulgences with three options. The option we have chosen includes praying before any statue of Our Lady of Fatima between May 9 and May15. This option applies to “the pious faithful who visit with devotion a statue of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly exposed for public veneration in any church, oratory or proper place during the days of the anniversary of the apparitions, the 13th of each month from May to October (2017), and there devoutly participate in some celebration or prayer in honor of the Virgin Mary.”

Those seeking an indulgence must also pray an Our Father, recite the Creed and invoke Our Lady of Fatima.

In celebration of the 100th year anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima, the Legion of Mary will be hosting a 24-hour perpetual rosary on Saturday, May 13, 2017, to pray for peace in our world as the Blessed Mother has requested. Please help us to accomplish this goal by signing up for a time slot to pray the rosary. It can be recited at home or wherever convenient. There is a sign-up available online at the St. Mary Website.

We will be leading a general rosary and prayer in the church on Saturday, May 13, at 8 am and 4pm to fulfill the requirement for plenary indulgences.

We thank you for your help with this effort. Legion of Mary

Volunteer Forms

Do You Volunteer at the Church or School?

The Diocese of Rockford has requirements for all volunteers that need to be met. Whether you volunteer as a catechist, choir member, lector, mass coordinator, funeral luncheon worker, extraordinary minister, cleaner of the church, or any other ministry of the church, we need you to read five documents and sign the accompanying form. We have 5-6 printed copies at the mass coordinators desk of the documents for those who want to check out or read on the premises. We also have the papers to sign saying you read them. Below are online versions which include the forms. You can read them online and sign the papers at church or print just the last page and sign (the last page is usually the one for the signature). Even if you have previously done the Sexual Misconduct Norms, it has been modified last January (so you need to do it again now).
