Weekly Religious Education classes are offered for children who do not attend St Mary School. These are for Preschool children up to Seniors. Our program includes preparation for children to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in second grade, Special Sacramental classes for children who will receive these Sacraments at a later age or for children who are also preparing for Baptism. We also have some classes in Spanish for those who are not yet fluent in English.

Please note these changes as of 2019:

First Communion preparation is now a 2-year program. 2nd and 3rd Graders who have not been in a Catholic school or R.E.class in 1st Grade will need to register for 1st Grade, and they will be in the First Communion Class the following year.

Religious Education classes are on Wednesdays from early September to May at the following times:

  • 4:00 - 5:15 pm for regular preschool through 5th-grade classes and for Special Sacraments classes for 4th through 8th Graders who have not made 1st Confession or 1st Communion.
  • 6:30 - 8:00 pm for 6th through 12th-grade classes.

Religious Education families are required to be registered members of St. Mary Parish and children in Religious Education classes are expected to be at Mass every weekend.

For further information, please contact Diane O'Donnell, Director of Religious Education.

During June we offer a one-week long Vacation Bible School program. See the Vacation Bible School page for more information on either of these programs.

We hope you are all enjoying a beautiful summer.  We ask you to please not wait until the end of the summer to register for Religious Education Classes which will begin on Wednesday, September 4.  By August 1, we would like to plan how many Catechists, Aides and books that we will need for each grade level.  There are Registration Forms in the St. Joseph Center on the Bulletin Board near the rest rooms and the circular driveway, in the parish office or online below.
